challenge

I set out to solve the challenge of promoting sustainable fashion habits in a 'trend-driven' world where fast fashion dominates, making it difficult for users to make eco-friendly choices.

The goal was to design an AI-driven app that simplifies wardrobe management and encourages users to maximize their existing clothing while reducing waste.

Success required integrating advanced features with a seamless user experience that prioritizes accessibility and ease of use, ensuring the app remained intuitive and enjoyable.

process

I used the Double Diamond design method, starting with Discover, where I conducted surveys, focus groups tech-savvy young adults to understand primary user needs around outfit planning and sustainability. In the Define phase, I identified key challenges and prioritized features like wardrobe management and AI outfit suggestions. During Develop, I sketched ideas, designed prototypes, and refined them based on user feedback to ensure an intuitive experience. Finally, in the Deliver phase, I polished the design and documented the process, creating a user-friendly app that makes sustainable fashion attractive and engaging.

Outcome

The project resulted in a fully designed outfit planning app that helps users organize their wardrobes, plan outfits efficiently, and make sustainable fashion choices.

By integrating features like personalized outfit suggestions, outfit tracking, sustainability insights, and community interactions, the app meets the needs of young adults who value convenience, style, sociability and environmental awareness.

The project showcases how thoughtful design and user feedback can be combined to create a solution that simplifies daily fashion decisions while encouraging more mindful consumption.
